Ryan loves working with early-stage companies, helping them add structure, processes and financial disciplines that allow them to scale effectively and efficiently.
Prior to joining Cowboy, Ryan was CFO at software company, FortressIQ, prior to its acquisition by Automation Anywhere. He spent over twenty years in financial services as CFO of Thomas Weisel Partners and SharesPost and as Controller for E*TRADE.
Ryan graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a BA in Economics, emphasis in Accounting, and yes, having grown up in Monterey and Santa Barbara, he does still occasionally surf.
What was the first concert you went to?
How do you say you’re old, without saying you’re old? My first concert was INXS at the Concord Pavilion.
What are some unusual jobs you’ve had in the past?
I spent a summer working on a ranch and had never looked more forward to returning to school. Most of my days were spent repairing fence line, which was only marginally better than cleaning stalls.
What are you happiest doing when you’re not working?
Anything outdoors really, I enjoy all types of sports and am good enough at most things not to embarrass myself. Outside of that, I enjoy spending time with my family, which consists of my wife and two kuvasz dogs, Kona and Zoe.
