The Cowboy Team

Tyrone Anderson

Venture Partner

Tyrone is a builder at heart and enjoys closely partnering with founders throughout the zero-to-one phase and beyond. Whether you’re thinking through how to structure and hire your initial GTM teams, how to successfully manage an enterprise sales cycle, or how to drive adoption, renewals, and upsells, Tyrone has carried a bag and has also built high-performing, data-driven revenue teams, systems, and operations.

He is also a uniquely technical GTM leader well versed in computer science, frontend and backend tech, system architecture design, distributed systems, and cloud observability. His passion lies in B2B software and the potential of AI, particularly in the fields of DevOps, developer tools, infrastructure, data, security, compliance, sales, and customer success. He’s always happy to roll up his sleeves and help a team quickly develop a bespoke and effective GTM strategy while avoiding common pitfalls.

Prior to Cowboy, Tyrone spent 17 years as a GTM leader in SaaS startups and public software companies. He has a nose for the right talent, product, and market conditions and was an early team member at Offermatica (MarTech), BlueKai (AdTech), and Lightstep (DevOps/Observability) which each had successful acquisitions by Omniture/Adobe ($60M), Oracle ($460M), and ServiceNow (~$800M) respectively. Most recently, Tyrone served as Area Vice President at ServiceNow leading Sales, Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Marketing, and Revenue Operations for the Lightstep BU.

Tyrone holds an MS in Biomedical Informatics from the Stanford School of Medicine and a BS in Symbolic Systems with a focus in Neuroscience from Stanford as well, go Card! Tyrone’s professional passion lies at the center of diverse, revenue-generating teams, innovative SaaS/AI products, and the business outcomes they drive for customers. On the personal front, he loves spending time with family and friends, traveling, exercising, listening to music, and cooking or dining out.
