We're thrilled to announce Caroline Duffy has joined Team Cowboy as a Partner on our investment team, based in the SF Bay Area, yeehaw! 🤠

Caroline brings a decade of experience working with enterprises, B2B software, AI and data science to our team. Plus, a track record and passion for partnering with special founders on a mission to modernize traditional and overlooked industries - aka what we call “unsexy tech.”

Caroline joins us from Construct Capital in DC, where she developed a special talent for identifying earliest stage startups to transform traditional industries burdened by legacy systems; and, for finding valuable, overlooked opportunities in manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics. And years prior, she began working with technical startups as the first hire at the AI fund, working alongside AI pioneer Andrew Ng.

If you talk with a founder who has worked with Caroline, you might hear things like “she does incredible homework and shares valuable data all along the journey” (makes sense, she studied history and quant data science at Dartmouth). “She’s not a crowd-follower, and develops her own conviction.” “she’s a true founder’s investor. She’s first principles-based. She takes care of the founders and will challenge us in the most constructive ways. She does the work.” and, “Tbh, after being in the valley for a while, I had become a bit disillusioned about working with VCs - until I started working with Caroline.” 

Caroline embodies Cowboy values, especially in understanding and practicing venture as a craft; as a great student of technology, collaborator, risk taker, and empath. She also makes room around the campfire in many ways - including by being on the board of the Access Institute to increase access to mental health services for under-resourced communities in SF; and by being on the All Raise DC steering committee. We’re thrilled for Caroline to add her perspectives, experience and smarts to our team.
